Setting up the backup

From start to finish, in five steps.

1

Invite the bot to both servers

To the original and to the backup server, with the Administrator permission.

Invite the bot

2

Drag the bot's role to the top

On the backup server: Server Settings → Roles → drag the bot's role to the top of the list. The bot can only manage roles and members below its own role.

3

Start the backup

On the backup server type: /backup <the original server's ID or invite link>

Or on the dashboard: choose the original (main) server, then where the backup should go, and click Start the backup.

Server ID: Discord settings → Advanced → Developer Mode, then right click the server → Copy Server ID.

4

Follow the progress

On the dashboard you see exactly how much of what was copied, and also when the full copy is done.

5

That's it!

From now on every new message, edit, deletion, role and permission change is copied automatically. If the bot restarts, it continues exactly where it stopped.

Tip: it works from the dashboard too

Sign in with Discord, choose the main server, then where the backup should go – it starts with one click, and you see its status and log there too.

Open the dashboard
